Clinical Supervision and Consultation

provided by Jenny McAlister, R.Psych

Consultative Supervision

$200 per hour

Consultative supervision is provided to counsellors and therapists registered as Certified Clinical Counsellors (CCC), those registered through a regulated body other than the College of Alberta Psychologists or fully registered psychologists gaining competence in a new area or wanting ongoing consultation for their practice. Consultative supervision is on an as-needed basis and is consultative in that the supervisor takes no liability for services provided by the clinician. Clinicians must be practicing in Alberta. Consultative supervision is conducted through case consultation, ethics and standards review and direct observation where requested.

Supervision of Supervision

$200 per hour

Also known as meta supervision, supervision of supervision assists those already fully registered who want to add supervision as a competency. This supervision complements formal training in supervision, which is also a requirement for gaining competence. Supervision of supervision is conducted through case consultation, video review, ethics and standards review, site visits (as needed) and ongoing professional development. Clinicians must be practicing in Alberta.

Supervision of supervision is provided in the branch of clinical/counselling psychology.

Registered Provisional Psychologist Clinical Supervision

$180 per hour

External supervision is provided to provisionally registered psychologists as a part of their registration as a psychologist in Alberta. At the same time, they complete their hours at a site other than Strathearn Psychology. Supervision is conducted through direct observation, co-therapy (where relevant), case consultation, ethics and standards review, site visits and ongoing professional development.  Clinicians must be practicing in Alberta.

Supervision is provided in the branch of clinical/counselling psychology.
