Hi there, my name is…
Paul Cumin
Mental Health Therapist • he/him
In my office, there’s no quick magic, but if there were it would be the feeling of radical acceptance.
I like an eclectic psychodynamic approach to counselling therapy, which means I think talking about our problems actually helps us navigate them, and that I adjust my tools to fit what a client needs to find their way through.
I’ve worked with emergency first responders, men in prison and on parole, couples, students, and people in religious or spiritual crises. I have felt the life-changing effect of professional kindness and empathy during my own darknesses, and I really love seeing my clients find their strength, authenticity and freedom.
I provide sessions for…
☑ Adults
☑ Teenagers
☑ Couples
When I’m not in my office, you can find me…
When I’m not working or trying to connect with my three adult kids, I enjoy reading and being outside – in the winter I like to play shinny, in the spring and summer it’s fly-fishing, in the fall I’ll go hunting or just out for a walk. Year-round, I look for truck parts.
My words to live by are…
“… sadness does not sink a person; it is the energy a person spends trying to avoid sadness that does that.” ~ Barbara Brown Taylor
